
David was President of the national Foundation of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, for a two year term from 2017 through 2019. He has served as the co-chair of the Continuing Education Committee of both Family Law Section of the American Bar Association and of the Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers on multiple occasions and was awarded Fellow of the Year for the Academy in 2013. For more than thirty-five years, in addition to representing clients, David has been a frequent lecturer and prolific author on family law and ethics. He also was an adjunct lecturer in law at the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law for more than fifteen years, teaching courses on custody, equitable distribution and professional responsibility.
David served as co-editor of the 2013, 2015 and upcoming 2025 textbooks Custody Law and Practice in Pennsylvania published by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and was a co-author of West’s Pennsylvania Forms volume on Domestic Relations, both preeminent family law text books utilized by practitioners throughout the Commonwealth. David has held leadership positions in national, state and local family law related organizations and has authored numerous family law articles in such publications as the Philadelphia Legal Intelligencer, The Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the ABA Family Law Section’s Advocate, Fair Share Magazine, Pennsylvania Law Weekly and the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer.
David is an active member of the Board of Directors of Parents Project Muscular Dystrophy, which focuses on advocacy and treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and an avid cyclist, who participates in charity bike events.
David and his wife, Gail, live in Center City Philadelphia, have two adult children, and enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren.
